WHY do therapy?
What you’ve been doing isn’t working, and there is a nagging feeling of unease or disillusionment.
You have wanted to feel a deeper sense of connection and fulfillment in your career or relationships for a long time.
Excessive worrying, expecting the worst, or being constantly on edge keep you from moving forward.
Perhaps, actions such as drinking too much alcohol, over-eating, or being overreactive are harming you or others.
You feel an overwhelming, prolonged sense of helplessness and sadness.
When is it time to ask for help?
If your quality of life isn’t what you want it to be, therapy can help.
Despite your best efforts or the efforts of friends and family, you find yourself unable to make lasting changes in your life.
When symptoms interfere with your quality of life or ability to meet your basic needs or those of others, therapy can help.
Or, more succinctly, you’re sick and tired of feeling sick and tired!
It’s ALL about relationships.
Most of our troubles are due to the inability to have an effective relationship with ourselves or others.
So, what the heck does that mean?
Life is all about relationships and connections. When these become disrupted at any stage of our life, we suffer.
The first place we learn about relationships is in our family of origin (FOO). When disruption of relationships occurs in early childhood, it can change how you connect to yourself and your world, often causing a domino effect.
At some point in life, you likely learned not to value your relationship with the most important person in your life – YOU. In turn, your relationship with others can become compromised.
I come in at this point.
The most important thing we will do is build a secure relationship. Therapy is a collaborative treatment based on the relationship between you and me. Interventions alone are ineffective without a therapeutic alliance.
Creating that alliance can take time, so you need patience. There is no magic bullet, and effective change takes time. I will provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment and meet you where you are now.
We will work together to identify and change the thoughts and behavior patterns that keep you from feeling your best. This work may include therapeutic assignments between sessions, a willingness to try new things, and stepping into some uncomfortable territory.
Wounds heal best when cleaned thoroughly – the same thing with people!

Therapy can help you identify and resolve trauma, reduce stress and anxiety, and minimize ineffective or unhealthy behaviors.
If you want to identify short-term and long-term goals and values, we can focus on ways to achieve this.
Working together, we can help you identify and release limiting belief systems, learn practical coping skills, or learn to calm the nervous system and create inner resources.
If you want to improve emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness skills or create mastery and connection in relationships, we make these issues a priority.
About Me
Becoming a counselor is a dream come true.
I knew I wanted to become a counselor since I was 13. Then, life took a detour, as it always does. I eventually returned to my original vision through my struggles and healing journey.
I began working at an alcohol and drug treatment center and immediately knew what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I went back to college to pursue a degree in social work. Since then, I have provided various specialized therapeutic services to those dealing with challenging life experiences.
I feel dedicated to helping you through all your obstacles using an eclectic approach that integrates my personal and professional experience. I am committed to helping you identify your authentic self and utilize your strengths to align with your power.
Here are some details about my professional training.
I received my undergraduate degree at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and my graduate degree at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I have a Master of Science in Social Work and am a Licensed (# 7908) Clinical Social Worker in Nashville. I also have certifications as a Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master, and Life Coach.
In addition, I have training in several different modalities, including the following: EMDR Levels 1 & 2; Brainspotting Levels 1 & 2; CRM (Comprehensive Resource Model) Level 1 ; DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy); Mindfulness; Conversational Hypnosis; Life Coaching; IFS (Internal Family Systems); and Trauma-Informed Yoga Levels 1 & 2.
When I am not in the office…
I am outdoors hiking, kayaking, camping, or backpacking! Oh, and I love to sing karaoke!
